Is Search Engine Marketing Dangerous?
Many business people are concerned about having search engine optimization work done on their websites - or finding out how to do it themselves, as they have heard marketing horror stories about SEO gone wrong, leading to websites doing worse for traffic as a result, or worse still being de-indexed altogether.
The simple answer is that search engine marketing IS safe, as long as it’s done in a safe manner.
There is one safe type of search engine promotion , which is white hat organic SEO. I’m not going to discuss the other type of SEO, because quality article sites won’t even give this the time of day, I only have to mention that here and the article will hit the trash can!
Simply put, white hat SEO consultants use techniques & strategies that are NOT frowned upon by the search engines - and search engine optimization IS safe, as long as it is safe, white hat organic SEO - not breaking the search engines terms of service by trying to cheat to get easier & faster results.
The unsafe methods of SEO involve trying to cheat the search engines. Search engines are not easily fooled, especially Google, it doesn’t take long for them to figure things out. This means that anyone trying to get away with this kind of tactic, have to keep one step ahead of Google & the other search engines in order to keep the rankings up.
You’ve got to be one heck of a clever person, to stay one step ahead of a company like Google, who employ hundreds of incredibly clever people to make sure that cheating & shortcuts cannot work, and not only that, but this requires a lot of work - which means it’s going to cost a lot of money to keep positions!
Going back to the original question “is SEO dangerous” you now know the answer - as long as you stick to safe, organic white hat SEO, then no, it’s not dangerous at all.
