Regular Search Engine Submission May Damage Your Website

Whilst trying to develop your website, the chances are you have seen many advertisements for bulk, search engine submission software or services. It takes time for all of the pages of a website to become indexed by the major search engines, which is why many companies have cashed in on automated website submission services. The truth is, however, that using an automated search engine submission service is never a good idea. The best you can expect is to have your website indexed in about the same time as if you let the search engines crawl it naturally or submitted it yourself to the major three. The worst that you can expect is for your website to get blacklisted and waste a lot of money.

The three major search engines Google, Yahoo, and MSN, are where the great majority of your search engine traffic will come from. Most other search engines are merely portals that use the results of these three search engines. The remaining few that have their own unique results will only bring in a fraction of your traffic, if any. Submitting to the big three is fast and easy, there is no need to pay for the service or purchase bulk submission software, especially when you cannot be assured that your website will be accurately submitted, if at all.

Regular monthly submissions to search engines will be ignored and your website may be blocked

One of the pitfalls of using an automated website submission service for regular, repeat submissions, is that they will most likely be ignored by the search engines. Most search engines, including the major three, require websites to be hand submitted and verified by requiring a code to be entered that cannot be read by a software program, before a submission will be accepted. This means that your website cannot be submitted to the big three by an automated program, only to a few lesser engines that won’t bring in much traffic.

You may also run the risk of getting your website temporarily blocked with automated search engine submission services. Services that promise regular monthly submissions may get your website banned from search engines that view these frequent submissions as spam. If this happens it can be detrimental to your website and your business.

The best way to get your website indexed by search engines is to submit it yourself to the major three, Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They each have a link from their home page, making it easy for website owners to add their website themselves.

Alternatively consider using a reputable and reliable search engine submission expert who will successfully submit your website manually to a wide range of search engines.
